A little bit of happy for Gaylen

Some days at Clementine's are better than others. Saturday afternoon my monkey about fell out of it's tree when this fabulous coat (attached to it's charming seamstress)came strolling in. Polka-dots!

There I stood, mouth gaping, when she mentioned finding a matching satin lining. I'm not adept at garment construction. I only know it's often hazardous to the sewist-psyche. But what I knew, at that moment, was that if I didn't get a photo or two, Gaylen would kick my butt. Or refuse to believe me about the fabulous, Boden-esque coat that won the Indiana State Fair... yeah, it's a blue ribbon winner.

A little satin lining for your Sunday, Miss G. *Mwah*

Above and below. Those damn cracked-out bunnies. Stoner fawns. Tweaker bugs and birds. Yeah, the birds do look like robots. Then you get to the 'shrooms and the leaning trees and the totally 70's strawberries that keep giving me flashbacks to third grade. I feel like I should be wearing gauchos and smearing on lip gloss from a tin (the ones with the slidey lid... remember?) Okay, gotta run. The week was long, but second Sunday has netted us three new sock knitters. World domination can't be far away. C

Very pretty coat. I can't believe somebody actually puts their stuff in the fair. I keep saying I'm going to put knitting in but I'm too chicken. g

1. Enter stuff in the fair!!! That is why people go. It is great inspiration as well.
2. I love this polka dot coat. I have dibs if she leaves it laying around the shop!!!

Why not enter the County Fair -- and the State Fair, too!! It makes you feel good to see things you've spent time on displayed for everyton to see. Not everything there is perfect -- that's what makes it fun!! Plus, if you're a 4-H Leader and you encourage 4-Hers to exhibit their projects, you've got to "put your money where your mouth is" and exhibit you things too!! I reccommend it highly -- it's FUN!!!

I know this lady, that is Barb Dunn! She was my neighbor when I was little... and yes, I know this posting is random, as you probably have no clue who I am!!! My Grandma, daughter (3) and I came in a bit over a week ago and she bought the navy blue fabric with waves on it for a baby quilt, as well as a ton of other crazy funky pattern ones for my baby's quilt ---the ones with the patchwork birds all over it! Thanks for cutting all of that for us, and a fun time sifting through your treasures there!!! We are busy getting these ready for the babies! Love the blog and your website :) Thanks again --- Annie
