Today's SMA award goes to Robin. Robin came in for the earlier part of the day, to hang with me, but mostly to meet Thimbleanna. I need to preface the rest of this paragraph with the following statement: At no time were any children in danger, or at risk of bodily harm, and the nature of the neglect is to be considered, well, negligible. It could happen to anybody. Today it just happened to happen to Eli. Today must have been an uber-busy day for 'Boris' and his offspring, because he brought the kids into the shop and rushed out the door, hurrying to get to the only paying gig this household knows. As it happens, we still have a two-year-old in diapers 1.) because we are lazy and 2.) I refuse to spend part or all of any of my days left on this Earth waiting for a kid to poop or pee "on the potty". We have five children. Four of them are not wearing diapers. Obviously my method works eventually. The downside to having kids at the shop is occasionally they need things brought from home. Things like diapers. I'm not gigging the man because he didn't bring any today; he usually never does. It's just today Eli managed to pee out of his diaper and that wonderful Robin ran to the store for another package. How cool is she? I know, right? So, actually she didn't just save my "arse", she saved Eli's, too. Would that make it an SEA award, instead? Dunno, but she's deserving something... maybe yarn?
Thimbleanna showed some interest in magic loop, and perhaps toe-ups. Gaylen, do you feel compelled to
Okay, I have to go into the kitchen and magic up some grub... tonight's special is "tater-tot casserole", for which the man has already browned the meat. No pink squirrel in the mail today. Yes, I am pouting, but there's always tomorrow, and we're waiting on fabric and the Rowan order as well. Lots to look forward to. Latah, knittas. C

You converted this knitter....I got one toe up sock via magic loop done and its mate making very good progress-predict my the end of the weekend I will have a pair of socks
Well, thanks to you - I now knit all of the hubby's socks two at a time, toe up, size 0s, magic loop. Right now I actually have a pair of socks top down on needles right now too. So, Thimbleanna, have fun - it's nice to get a pair done at once without any finishing! g
Hmmmm . . . I like 16" & 24" circulars for knitting socks on two circulars. It's much easier to keep track of the ends of the things that way. (But if I knit a sock on one circular, then it's 32" or 40" all the way.)
Since Vern is off playing in the snow tonight, the kids and I had dinner out, and itty bitty Ben & Jerry ice creams in front of a funny movie. It was a lot of fun. :o) The only thing that could have made it better is if I could have somehow figured out how to convince them that I really needed a pint all to myself . . . while they only needed the little 4oz. servings. lol
I've made good progress on my sock (past the heel the second time) and seem to be buying a huge amount of sock yarn... but sock yarn isn't really stash right? I need to find a way to quit my job, keep the salary and do a lot more knitting!
Awww, Cami, you're making me blush! I had such a GREAT time -- and I'd tell you all about it if my FREAKING blog wasn't down. I've been on hold for tech support for an hour -- I hate to jinx it, but they suck! Anyway, I'm so glad I didn't forget my yarn -- I've been petting it today. I can't start the new socks and technique yet though -- I'm making myself finish the socks I already have on the needles first -- might be a month or two yet. BooHoo! I'll also be sending you another e-mail -- but it will be awhile -- must get this crash figured out...Hey! You forgot to share the Xanax -- and I Need. It. NOW!!! XO.
Oh, and p.s., don't we need the recipe for the tater-tot casserole??? ;-)
